The Quarterly Payment Plan is Now Available!
Any current ADHA member who is due for renewal this summer can join the QPP online today. Any new, former or lapsed ADHA members will have to contact ADHA member services by phone to join the quarterly payment plan. At the State Summer Games held in Orlando on May 13-14, hygienists, hygiene students,dentists and dental students provided oral screenings, applied fluoride varnish and gave oral hygiene instruction and supplies to 442 athletes. This is a record! Thanks to all who participated.
Dear Colleagues,
On May 3, 2011, House Bill 1319 by Representative Gayle Harrell passed the Florida Senate 38-0 with language allowing licensed Florida dental hygienists to performed preventative oral health services in health access settings without the prior authorization of a dentist. The bill was presented by Senator Thad Altman who substituted HB 1319 for his companion bill.The identical bill passed the Florida House 116-0.
This language was originally filed in House Bill 225 by Representative Fred Costello and Senate Bill 446 by Senator Alan Hays.
Senator Hays, Senator Altman, Representative Costello and Representative Harrell were all instrumental in the passage of this law.
Next, HB 1319 will go to Governor Rick Scott for his signature. Thank you to everyone who contacted their legislators!
