DID YOU KNOW.......
NYU dental researchers have found that prolonged consumption of sports drinks may be linked to the erosion of enamel.
Prevention of this is to consume sports drinks in moderation and waiting at least 30 minutes before brushing, allowing the softened enamel to reharden. Also, frequent user should use an acid-neutralizing remineralizing toothpaste.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Congratulations to the VCC Dental Hygiene class of 2009. Hopefully, a successful Board Exam followed in Gainesville or Ft. Lauderdale. Please consider this a welcome to the ADHA and GODHA. We hope to see all of you who call the Orlando area home attend the meetings and become an integral part of GODHA.
The heat has returned as well as the damaging sun's rays. Please be sure to use appropriate sunscreen. It is a great time to remind our patients to use protection. It seems a lot of people do not know the harmful effects to their lips and noses. I am constantly reminding the many avid golfers (esp. men) to purchase a tube of SPF 60 lip balm. It seems our job never ends!
Please don't forget about the Board/Planning Meeting set for Saturday, June 27. All members are welcome to attend.
