Message From the FDHA PresidentAt a new year, it is good to reflect on what the past year has held and what the future has in store. A wise person once told me that planning is the key to life. Another wise person told me that a dream is just a dream without a vision. I want to assure you that your leaders in the Florida Dental Hygiene Association have a plan and a vision for our future as dental hygienists and as a professional association.
We have a purpose:
To promote the health of the public; advance the art and science of dental hygiene; maintain the highest standards of dental hygiene education and practice; represent and protect the profession of dental hygiene; improve the professional competency of the dental hygienist; advocate research in oral health; provide professional communication.
We have a vision:
Create a community for all dental hygienists to collaborate and invest in their future.
And we have a core ideology:
Encourage all dental hygienists to achieve their fullest potential as they seek to improve the public's oral health.
I thank each of you for supporting our professional association in its endeavors to represent all hygienists in the state of Florida. Here's wishing all of you a wonderful new year, filled with excitement, fulfillment and smiles.
With warmest regards,
Rory Reese, RDH, BHS
President, Florida Dental Hygiene Association

ADHA NewsDon't miss this year's Center for Lifelong Learning at the ADHA 88th Annual Session! The good news is that this year's CLL/AS is June 15-21, 2011, in Nashville, Tennessee, home of the Grand Old Opry, country and western music, and some of the best food in the south. Think about getting together with a couple of friends and carpooling. The Schedule of Courses and Events is available online! Just go to adha.org and click on Annual Session.
Of course, it wouldn't be ADHA if we didn't have a contest going. Spread the word about ADHA annual session by participating in the 2011 YouTube CLL/AS Video Promotion Contest. Make a video that excites and inspires your colle
